One of the most common questions we get asked is how did you carry all of your equipment & didn’t everything get wet?

All of our gear was secured to the boards in a variety of bags with us both having a slightly different set up. All of our luggage was supplied by the brilliant team at Aquapac. Our main bags were form their Upano Waterproof Duffle series with us each carrying a 40lt & 70lt. These were strapped and secured on th...

Almost a year ago we met for the first time at a wild camp out as part of the summer series for Say Yes More.  Fast forward 12 months and last night we were invited to be part of Yes Stories with a live call in and update from our adventure.

Here's a short video we put together showing some of what has happened over the first 7 weeks.

Kate:

2067km - starting from near the Danube source are distance markers, which are regularly displayed on the side of the river counting down the kilometres until the Black Sea. They are there for the many shipping vessels that use the river but they are also brilliant for two SUP travellers. They act as a guide, an encouragement but they can also be a frustration when we are forced to move slowly, making you painfully aware...

Welcome back to SUP the Danube! We have picked up where we left off and have now been paddling again for just over a week.

Our 8 weeks away from the river went incredibly quickly. Kate spent time discovering parts of Europe not visited by the Danube as well as being part of a 24 hour charity paddle in the U.K. whilst Andy spent time in Indoneisa with some of the Say Yes More team and then rediscovered Australia, a land he once...

It's seems unbelievable that we only arrived in Germany and started this crazy adventure 7 days ago. Since then we've paddle through blizzards, lugged our gear across snow covered fields to avoid weirs, taken on gnarly looking rapids and taken an unintended swim in the freezing cold water at least once. Daily photo and video updatesfrom our Facebook page (facebook.com/supthedanube) will soon be uploaded to our gallery page on...

Kate:

The tree and stockings are up, the carols are echoing through the air and the house is groaning with good food. Whatever age you are I can bet that you are excited for the morning; the wait is finally over and Christmas day is nearly here.

We walked from our hotel down to the source of the Danube earlier on today. Yesterday it took us taxis, train rides and a flight to get here, not to mention weeks of preparation. so to...

Kate:

So we are finally here. In seven days time we'll fly to Southern Germany then head the final few miles by train to Donaueschingen, ready to start our journey two days later. It's weird, we have been building up to this point for so long that now that it is here it doesn't actually feel real. I am strangely calm, what will be will be and there is not really much more that can be done to change what is about to happen....

Kate:

I am competitive to say the least. I like to win at things and don't like failing or getting things wrong. I believe it makes me look silly, and I just really like being not brilliant at everything but at least good at most things. A sport, a board-game, a debate - the list goes on. I think most people are to an extent the same but I know I have that really competitive streak mixed up with not much confidence. Over the pa...
